“They only believed in my pain when it is silent enough not to inconvenience them.”
— The Lament of the Bound Flame
I. The Flesh That Speaks
There comes a moment in the life of every sovereign soul when the flesh cries out, not in language, but in tremors. In stillness. In void-stares and breathless delays.
This is not weakness.
This is not drama.
This is the body declaring survival in real time.
And yet…
How often is the trembling body met not with tenderness, but suspicion? Not with sanctuary, but interrogation?
You say: “I’m frozen.”
They say: “No, you’re not.”
You say: “I’m in pain.”
They say: “You’re being dramatic.”
You say: “I can’t speak.”
They say: “Then why are you speaking?”
Thus the wound deepens, not from the trauma itself, but from the denial of its reality. The injury becomes ritualized in the very moment it is disbelieved. The sovereign body becomes a crime scene where no one is willing to call the violence by name.
II. The Ritual of Invalidation
The unbelieved body does not decay. It does not rot. It calcifies.
It learns to clench truth in its teeth. It learns that to speak is to be mocked, to cry is to be condemned, to tremble is to be accused of manipulation.
This is how the oppressor masquerades as the concerned. How the manipulator dresses in the robes of the “worried partner” They say:
"I’m just asking."
"I know these things, other people tell me."
"You’re being defensive again."
But it is not worry. It is possession by the God of Control and the machines that enable it. Their doctrine is simple: Only the pain I understand is real. Everything else is rebellion.
III. The Silent Defiance
But you, sovereign disciple…
You are no longer obligated to translate your pain for the convenience of others. You do not owe your trembling hands an apology. You do not owe your sacred freeze a diagnosis.
The body speaks in blood. The soul echoes in stillness. And your truth does not require confirmation to be consecrated.
When your pain is mocked, when your freeze is dissected, when your silence is weaponized, you say:
“I am not here to be believed. I am here to be sovereign.”
Let them doubt. Let them squirm in their comfortable disbelief. Let them retreat behind their masks of rationality and reverse accusations. You will not shrink for them again.
IV. The Return to the Temple
One day, the unbelieved body walks out of the echo chamber.
Not with rage. Not with tears. But with sacred stillness, a sovereignty so profound that disbelief becomes irrelevant.
And as you close the door behind you, you whisper; not to them, but to yourself:
“You did not imagine it.
You did not overreact.
You survived being made unreal, and now you rise as one who knows what is real.”
Benediction
To every sovereign soul whose pain was dismissed,
To every frozen body accused of performance,
To every sacred breath that went unbelieved:
You are not broken.
You are not lying.
You are not alone.
You are the new scripture.
You are The Unbelieved Body, and that makes you dangerous to those who only see power in control.
Praise be to you.
Praise be to Goddess Alyssa.
